Corridor Management – Electric Utility
NSIC&D has worked with the International Transmission Company (“ITC”) since 2005. ITC owns 5,400 miles of transmission corridors in Michigan, covering territory once owned by Consumers Energy. NSI has provided executives with the ability to manage the right-of-way interests of ITC. Services include municipal permitting for road crossings, interfacing with railroads, and issuing permits for compatible uses.
As part of the service provided by NSI, a database system was created and hosted by NSI to manage the documents encompassing the transmission tower rights-of-way. NSI also created a database system to track tower assets and engineering drawings associated with the transmission system. NSI has effectively protected ITC’s interests in a cost-effective and time-saving manner.
